I had a marvelous weekend, filled with my marvelous friends and my favorite way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day – the Stamford parade!
I mentioned this last year, but the parade has always been a big deal for my friends and me. Since I had yet to have an “apartment warming” party, I thought a pre-parade brunch would be a great opportunity to have my friends over.
Brunch menu consisted of : egg bake with spinach and mozzarella, bacon (pork and turkey), chicken sausage, bagels, Irish soda bread and MIMOSAS. The mimosas and chicken sausage were my favorite. We headed downtown (outside) close to noon to catch the parade. It lasted about 20 minutes, maybe longer, but regardless, it seemed longer than past years.
My favorite are the little Irish dancers! They get me every time.
They get Matt too. He joined in for a bit, but I only caught the tail end of it. The girls quite enjoyed his rendition.
Best part of the parade? Bringing all my friends together.
My gym girls, Becky and Amanda.
My besties, Mary and Brie.
Mary and her hubby, Matt. They are celebrating their 1 year wedding anniversary TODAY.
My roommate, Sarah and her boyfriend, Willi.
Brie and me AFTER the parade since we forgot to snap a shot during it.
I even caught up with my friends, Anna Lisa and Mia at the bars afterwards.
I love them and soaked up every minute spent with them, and therefore, snapping pictures of the food at brunch and of the day in general was not top of mind. It’s something I’ve always tried to be better at, but if it means I’m not focused on my friends, I can’t give in.
Sunday was just as marvelous. Yet another day full of pre-spring sunshine and extra daylight! What’s better than that?
Well, when the day also includes an 3 mile run OUTDOORS, 16 Handles fro yo, food prep, and my first attempt at “crispy skin salmon” I’d say it’s truly a winner.
The warmer temperatures and sunshine are so refreshing and reviving. My mood was instantly lifted and despite knowing I’m heading into what will be quite a difficult week at work, I’m ready for it.
What’s marvelous in your Monday?
Do you love or hate turning your clock forward?

Maria, you are too cute! i love your St. Patty’s day attire
Aw, thanks Jessie!!! I’ve had the socks for years but the tee was a new find from Walmart!
what perfect weather for a parade, looks like a blast
Seriously, the weather was absolutely ideal!! Shocking that it snowed 10 inches the day before! HAHA!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE your shirt! I’m so confused! Philadelphia celebrated St. Patty’s this weekend too, but I thought for sure it was on the 17th! I’m quite confused. I’m glad you got nice weather though! Hopefully it sticks around this time.
Ha! The parade in our city is always the Saturday before St. Patty’s day. It gives the big drinkers 2 days to celebrate. LOL
OK, the froyo with the rainbow cookie topping and crispy skin salmon have me drooling over here!!!
Glad you had a fun weekend celebrating St.Patrick’s day early! You are so adorable!
<3
I could go for some fro yo right now!
i really need to stop feeling obligated to post on social media! sometimes when i’m out to eat i feel like i “have” to instagram my food and as soon as it becomes a should, the red flag goes up in my mind. i’m trying to only use the social media to share my experience if i really want to be doing so! it’s really annoying how quickly it can become a habit or obligation, not a fun thing i may WANT to do. thanks for the inspiration to keep trying to disconnect a bit more!
omg the fro yo. i miss 16 handles!!! and your salmon really DOES look similar to the tuscany version!
