Marvelous was the word this weekend.
Friday night – dinner with my parents at Mitchell’s Fish Market. Our favorite spot, ever! Thanks to a sweet Christmas promo, my parents had two $25 gift cards to use before they expire at the end of the month. Naturally, they invited me to accompany them. I knew exactly what I would order… for 3 days BEFORE dinner. Yup! The cedar plank salmon is THAT good.
Saturday included another visit to Crossfit Port Chester. The WOD was “Powerbar” – 3 rounds of 30 wall balls and 30 snatches. While I detest wall balls, I still loved it! My friend, Amanda and I agreed that we prefer Saturday mornings over Sunday mornings. There weren’t as many people, so as newbies, we felt that we were able to ask more questions and felt more comfortable by the end of the WOD.
Immediately after Crossfit, I headed to Carozza Fitness in Stamford to volunteer for a Sandy Hook benefit. After working out, I was happy to just be a judge at the event. Check out these WODs:
The teams were AWESOME! I thought everyone did a phenomenal job. I was seriously exhausted for them. Ouch! My good friends, Kerri and Shannon also participated as a team and rocked it! Shannon did the box overs in 1 jump rather than stepping up. Everyone was quite impressed. Show off.
I think everyone’s
least favorite WOD was the AMRAP ring rows and burpees. Everyone loves burpees right!? Or is that just me? With all of the participants, volunteers and additional donations, Carozza Fitness raised over $2,000!
After a quick trip to Fairway and Target, I was done for the night. I had to rest up for Mohegan Sun Winefest!
I woke up early Sunday to get to the gym for a so-so workout. I was too excited for the day’s events. Thankfully, my friend Jill was just as eager as I was to head up so we were off by 9am! We arrived, grabbed our glasses and it was GO time!

There truly was so much marvelous going on. Marvelous time with my parents, marvelous WODs and wine is ALWAYS marvelous!
