Happy Marvelous Monday/New Year’s Eve! Since I enjoyed last week’s trip down memory lane, I thought it would be appropriate to do the same for New Years! Who’s down?! Okay, I’m labeling these as the year it was on New Years Eve before midnight..k, got me?
This is 2005 at Hula Hanks with my pal, Lauren and bestie Mary. I loved my dress that night! I tried it on again years later (after I started focusing on strength training) and refused to wear it because my arms looked too bulky. (WHAT!) Maybe I should try to dig it out again.
2006, Mary and I at Bradford’s. We didn’t go out until AFTER midnight because we were too cheap to thrown down the money. Oh – I loved my dress that night too.
2007. Mary went and got a boyfriend so the single gals and I met for dinner at Barcelona and took our dancing shoes to Black Bear South Norwalk. We crashed at Anna Lisa’s after some karaoke and dancing. What else would single girls do?
2008 was such a waste of money. We bought tickets for an event we stayed at for maybe 2 hours, did not eat the food and had 2 drinks. Mary (another one) and I went back to my house to watch the ball drop and eat waffles and Lean Cuisine. Super.
2009. If it were up to me, I would have gladly stayed home that year, but Mary and Brie were newly single and wanted to do something special. We had dinner at Gingerman SoNo with Allan, our single guy friend. It was fun but it was snowy that year so I had Dad drop us off/pick us up.
Side note – none of them are single anymore. Well, except for ME!
2010 – A couple years ago, Brie and I went to Saltwater Grille (has now closed) for a pre fixed dinner. It was quite delicious and our outfits – again, super cute! Thank heavens for super friendly people in the bathroom who offered to take a full on shot of us! YAY for getting our shoes!
I don’t have any pictures from last year, but it pretty much consisted of me and Mary playing Xbox Kinect in her basement. We worked up quite a sweat competing against each other.
As for tonight, the current plan is to go to my cousin’s for a quiet evening. It will be nice to do something rather than sit at my place with some take out and wine, because while it may sound fabulous to some, it sounds quite depressing to me!
While we’re all super psyched for 2013, I want to know what you want to see more of on the blog. I’ve been all over the map lately but want to hear from you.
Are you interested in seeing more health/fitness/workout posts?
Would you rather see more foodie and recipe posts?
Or maybe you’re interested in the beauty/fashion piece.
I’d love your feedback! In the meantime, have a Marvelous Monday/New Year’s Eve!
See you in 2013!
Maria

I love hearing about blogger’s workouts! I use them for motivation on days that I’m clearly being super lazy while surfing the web. Most times by the 3rd exercise post I’ve read I think I’m the only sucker sitting on the couch and then I get out there! Great blog!
sounds like a great night ahead, I have always done quiet evenings, never been a big celebration night for me.
Is it silly of me to NOT want to celebrate just so I don’t wake up feeling like crap tomorrow?!
Maria, you are so pretty! I hope you had the most wonderful & fun New Years Eve celebration!
I’d love to see more recipes =)
What a sweet compliment, Jessie! I finally took my own advice and stayed in, and was in bed by 10:30. It was marvelous. Happy 2013!
I love when you ‘go back in time’ because I love to see your many hair styles!
this was actually the first year I ever went our for New Year’s! It was fun, but next year I’m definitely staying in my PJs!!
ha! I was thinking about adding a disclaimer regarding my various hair styles! I believe I’ve been doing the same thing with my hair for over a year now. Probably the longest streak ever!
i am going to steal the tights you’re wearing in the 2010 pic. you better reconsider our slumber party…
